Golf with Doc is a social, recreational and physical exercise initiative designed to bring together individuals interested in supporting the mission and activities of Northern Hearts. With an emphasis on social interaction and fun, the event is intended to be an ideal way to reduce stress and limit its impact on cardiac disease.

Golf with Doc on September 13th, 2020

Northern Hearts annual “Golf with Doc” was held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the beautiful Fort William Country Club.

“Golf with Doc” is a fundraising tournament and was held at the Fort William Country Club on Sunday, September 13th  with appropriate adjustments to ensure that social distancing protocols and group limit restrictions were maintained. Dr. Chris Lai and fellow doctors, Dr. Mario Nucci and Dr. John Coccimiglio demonstrated their golfing abilities and managed to record below par scores for their teams.

Dr. Lai commented that he enjoys Golf with Doc because of its social aspect. “I enjoy Golf with Doc as I get to see people in a more relaxed atmosphere”.

The event is also a fundraising initiative for the organization that allows them to continue to offer their educational programming including Walk with Doc, (now Virtual Walk with Doc), Talk with Doc, Dine with Doc and Golf with Doc.

The goal of Northern Hearts is to reduce the high incidence of cardiovascular disease in the region and create a community environment for people with cardiac disease to share and support each other. Their mission is to promote and educate the community on healthy lifestyles in an attempt to reduce the risk of cardiac disease. Through the generous support of participants, sponsor and volunteers the event raised over $4000 to assist Northern Hearts in achieving their goals.
